Likt Manchester vill London fimpa förbränningsmotorn 2030. Sedan 2021 är alla nya bussar elektriska, och nu är de 2 000 stycken. Indien har egna ambitioner.
10,900 electric buses up for grabs in India: new CESL tender, five cities involved
Sustainable Bus skrev:The buses will be allocated across five metropolitan areas: Bengaluru is expected to receive 4,500 units (including 3,500 twelve-metre low-floor non-AC, 300 twelve-metre low-floor AC, 600 nine-metre low-floor non-AC, and 100 nine-metre low-floor AC buses). Delhi will witness the introduction of 2,800 buses (2,500 twelve-metre low-floor AC and 300 nine-metre low-floor AC), 2,000 will go to Hyderabad, 1,000 to Ahmedabad (600 nine-metre and 400 twelve-metre AC buses), 600 to Surat.
De indiska megastäderna Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad och Surat ska få tusentals elbussar. En del bussar får inte luftkonditionering, likt SL:s A32.

CATL founder Robin Zeng expects China truck market to be 50% electric by 2028
Soaring electric truck sales deal new blow to diesel use in China
Reuters skrev:Sales in the world's biggest market for new energy trucks are estimated to have risen 175% year-on-year to 76,100 in the first half of this year, or about a quarter of new truck sales, according to consulting firm Sublime China Information (SCI). Electric models, still mostly used for short-haul runs in ports, mines or steel mills, accounted for over 90% of that increase.
The rapid pace has surprised analysts who have revised down diesel demand forecasts as a result and brought forward their predictions for a peak in Chinese oil demand.
[...]
"We expect electric heavy trucks to account for 70% to 80% of new sales within as little as two to three years, driven by lower operating costs and more comprehensive charging infrastructure," said Zhaoting Yue, SANY's vice president of international marketing.

Life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions from passenger cars in the European Union: A 2025 update and key factors to consider
The ICCT skrev:This report is a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of the global warming potential of passenger cars sold in the European Union (EU). It compares sales-weighted average medium segment gasoline, diesel, and natural gas internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). The analysis covers the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from vehicle and battery production and recycling, fuel and electricity production, fuel consumption, and maintenance. This analysis is an update of ICCT’s previous vehicle LCAs.
[...]
Although BEVs were estimated to have about 40% higher production emissions than ICEVs due to emissions from production of the battery, these additional emissions are more than offset after about 17,000 km of use in the first one or two years.
Furthermore, the life-cycle emissions of BEVs were 24% less than estimated in ICCT’s 2021 life-cycle analysis study (Bieker, 2021), which reflects the ongoing decarbonization of the EU average electricity mix.
