Russian Army began using modernized 155mm Krasnopol-M2 projectiles
BulgarianMilitary.com skrev:The Krasnopol-M2 155mm round is primarily used by the Russian military in their artillery systems. Specifically, it is designed to be fired from the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer and the 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV, a newer self-propelled artillery system. These systems are used for long-range artillery support and can be deployed in a variety of combat scenarios.
However, it is important to note that the Krasnopol-M2 round is not limited to use in Russian weapon systems. It is a precision-guided ammunition that can be fired from any artillery system capable of firing 155mm rounds. This means that it could potentially be used in other countries artillery systems as well, assuming they have access to the ammunition.
BulgarianMilitary/Boyko Nikolov skrev:The Krasnopol-M2 is considered to be one of the most advanced artillery shells in the world and is widely used by the Russian military. Its precision and accuracy make it a highly effective weapon against a variety of targets.
The Krasnopol-M2 shell is designed to be used against a variety of targets, including armored vehicles, fortifications, and buildings. It is particularly effective against moving targets, such as tanks or other vehicles, as it can track and follow them as they move.
The damage caused by the Krasnopol-M2 shell depends on the type of target it hits. Against armored vehicles, it can penetrate the armor and cause significant damage to the vehicle and its crew. Against fortifications and buildings, it can create a hole or breach in the structure, allowing friendly forces to enter or providing a new line of sight for artillery fire.
