Pro-Putin military bloggers claim Australian-built cardboard drone was brought down inside Russia
ABC News skrev:According to the Russian-language posts, the UAV is made by Australian company SYPAQ Systems, which has been exporting its cardboard drones in flat packs to Ukraine's military for several months.
"The MON-90 mine is built into the fuselage of this UAV. On the wing is a VP-2a radio detonator," one Russian commentator observes in a discussion on a Telegram channel.

The exact cost of the drones has not been publicly revealed but Ukraine's military is known to use the UAVs to drop bombs, deliver supplies and undertake vital reconnaissance missions.
Enligt tidigare uppgifter skickar Australien minst 100 kartongdrönare per månad till Ukraina. Tydligen används dessa på ryskt territorium. Inga röda linjer?
Wagner’s Prigozhin Planned to Capture Russian Military Leaders
WSJ skrev:Prigozhin originally intended to capture Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Gen. Valery Gerasimov, the chief of Russia’s general staff, during a visit to a southern region that borders Ukraine that the two were planning. But the Federal Security Service, or FSB, found out about the plan two days before it was to be executed, according to Western officials.
[...]
Western officials said they believe Prigozhin had communicated his intentions to senior military officers, possibly including Gen. Sergei Surovikin, commander of the Russian aerospace force. It couldn’t be determined whether Surovikin passed this information on to the FSB, or how the agency found out about Prigozhin’s plans.

The indecisiveness in suppressing the rebellion is being cited as a reason for purging commanders and officials, Zvinchuk wrote. Surovikin hasn’t been seen since Saturday.

Most Americans support US arming Ukraine, Reuters/Ipsos poll shows
Reuters skrev:Solid majorities of Americans support providing weaponry to Ukraine to defend itself against Russia and believe that such aid demonstrates to China and other U.S. rivals a will to protect U.S. interests and allies, according to a Reuters/Ipsos survey.
The two-day poll that was concluded on Tuesday charted a sharp rise in backing for arming Ukraine, with 65% of the respondents approving of the shipments compared with 46% in a May poll.
[...]
The survey was conducted just days after Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the private Wagner mercenary company, launched and then called off a mutiny over what he charged was the Russian defense ministry's mishandling of the war in Ukraine.

Failed Russian Mutiny Boosts Prospects for More US Arms to Ukraine
Bloomberg skrev:President Joe Biden says the turmoil in Moscow has weakened Vladimir Putin. Now, the 24-hour mutiny by mercenaries is likely to bolster those in Washington seeking to boost support for Ukraine’s war effort.
The failed rebellion by Yevgeny Prigozhin’s soldiers-for-hire against Russian government forces may spur bolder commitments from other NATO countries when their leaders gather next month in Vilnius, Lithuania, according to a person familiar with the Biden administration’s thinking who asked not to be identified discussing private discussions.
Allies that have pushed for more aggressive backing will find their position strengthened on the basis that the turmoil highlights President Putin’s vulnerability.

Pictured: White sky trails force France to reveal hypersonic weapon test
The Telegraph skrev:Paris confirmed that it had successfully conducted the maiden test flight of a hypersonic glider after various sightings of intricate trails in the skies above the Spanish and French Pyrenees.
Hypersonic gliders use a “boost-glide” launch system. First, a rocket propels the weapon into space before the payload glides back into the atmosphere to its target at hypersonic speed.
“These hypersonic gliders are capable of passing through the most sophisticated air defences: they are missiles that can reach unprecedented speeds of 6,000 to 7,000 kilometres per hour,” Florence Parly, the former French defence minister, said recently.
