Ukrainas säkerhetstjänst fortsätter att sabotera ryska järnvägar. En explosion har skett i en järnvägstunnel i republiken Burjatien som leder till Kina.Reuters skrev:An operation conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detonated explosives on a railway line in Siberia that Russia uses for military supplies, a Ukrainian source told Reuters on Thursday.
The source, who declined to be identified, said four explosive devices were detonated overnight as a cargo train was moving through the Severomuysky Tunnel in Buryatia region, which borders Mongolia.
Such an attack, more than 4,000 km (2,480 miles) from Ukraine, would be a striking demonstration of Kyiv's ability to conduct operations deep inside Russia.
Ukraine's new long-range rocket delivery from US pushed to next year
Äntligen en statusuppdatering för GLSDB. Ukraina får tyvärr vänta till nästa år, men testningen börjar om en månad.Reuters skrev:Ukraine needs GLSDB to augment the limited number of 100-mile range ATACMS rockets the U.S. has sent. It will allow Ukraine's military to hit targets at twice the distance reachable by the rockets it now fires from the U.S.-supplied High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and force Russia to move its supplies even farther from the front lines.
People familiar with current timing say delivery to the U.S. by Boeing, the prime contractor for the GLSDB, will take place in late December - followed by several months of testing before onward shipment to Ukraine.
A Pentagon spokesman said "we anticipate providing this key capability in the early 2024 timeframe after successful verification," another term for testing.
OPEC+ agrees to voluntary oil output cuts, invites Brazil to join
Opec+ meddelar att Brasilien går med i oljekartellen. Som bekant har oljeorganisationen under innevarande år tappat andelar, främst till USA och Brasilien.Reuters skrev:Oil prices fell after rising by more than 1% earlier in the session after OPEC+ producers agreed to the cuts. Benchmark Brent crude for February futures were over 2% lower to just under $81 a barrel at 1836 GMT. The front-month January contract is due to expire on Thursday.
"The market reaction implies disbelief in the full efficacy of the cuts," JP Morgan analyst Christyan Malek said.
"However, setting a new framework for each member to deliver on its cut reflects the degree of trust and cohesion among the members; case in point, the fact Brazil is joining is testament to the strength in numbers for OPEC+."
Army Is Looking For Hybrid Drivetrains For Its Strykers
USA:s armé planerar också att fasa ut fossila bränslen. Vidare har Ryssland 13 269 bekräftade förluster i Ukraina, varav 2 510 stridsvagnar och 16 TOS-1A.The War Zone skrev:The U.S. Army is interested in exploring hybrid-electric options for its 8x8 Stryker wheeled armored vehicles. The service has become increasingly concerned with developing hybrid-electric propulsion systems in recent years, which offer numerous benefits including reduced fuel usage as well as being far quieter than standard diesel engines, for its armored and unarmored vehicles as well as tanks.
[...]
Integrating hybrid-electric propulsion into Stryker vehicles also makes sense in light of the Army's broader environmental objectives. Under its climate strategy, the service aims to field "purpose-built" hybrid-drive tactical vehicles by 2035, and, by 2050, field fully electric tactical vehicles. The strategy aims to slash the Army’s greenhouse gas emissions by 50 percent of its 2005 levels by 2030.
There is also an important commercial dimension to all this, too. Given that Strykers are increasingly being sold to the U.S.'s allies and partners — as well as being donated to Ukraine — converting existing vehicles to hybrid-electric propulsion, as well as potentially creating an all-new hybrid-electric model, would likely be attractive to both existing and potential foreign customers.
