Stockholm, 10-06-22 (in English with questions)

Inlägg av Christoph Heuer »

Hej,

please accept my apologies for writing in English. I am German and know very little Swedish.

On 22 June 2010 my wife and I visited Stockholm. By coincidence we were close to the future Kungsträdgården tram stop when car 34 arrived on driver training. We followed the car to Sergels torg and then walked to Nybroplan to wait for it. Maybe you will like the pictures. Some questions are at the end. All pictures were taken by Kerstin Wünsche, my wife.

Now here are the questions:
The museum trams will run from 5 July. Will they also run after 22 August this year or in 2011?
We saw museum trams 331, 333, 335 and 700 and trailers 521 and 615. Will more cars come to Stockholm or is the space needed for the low-floor cars?

Thank you in advance for any answers. Tack!

Kind regards

Christoph

I can read Swedish (well, sort of) but I can neither write nor speak Swedish. Please accept my apologies for that.

Yes, heritage tramway line 7N ”Djurgårdslinjen” will indeed continue to operate between Norrmalmstorg and Skansen past August 22, alongside the regular tramway line 7 ”Spårväg city”, which will run the full distance between Sergels torg and Waldemarsudde.

The total track length in the expanded Alkärrshallen will be 6x65 meters (it was 4x60 before the expansion began), and as the 6 modern tramcars will occupy an amount of track that equals three depot tracks, the three remaining tracks should therefore accordingly be allocated to the heritage/museum cars, about 30 meters of those tracks will be set aside for ongoing restoration projects.

Thank you for sharing those beautiful pictures!

Thank you for the information. If I understand you correctly more museum cars are in Stockholm or will come to Stockholm (from Malmköping?). Any idea which those cars are going to be or is that a secret?

By the way, we were very lucky to get those pictures at all. Our original intention was to the the Spårvägsmuseet which we did, visit a model railway shop to buy a Roco Rc6 in blue and then go to the Lidingöbanan and the Vasamuseet but not to the tramway. The shop only stocked Märklin and Trix model railways but advised us of two other shops one of which was in the city centre which is how we ended up at the tramway which we thought was still closed. We still do not know where to buy Roco model railways in Stockholm and surroundings but we got the photographs of 34 and also 33 and what we think were all museum cars present.

Finally, here is a bonus picture of Norrköping 33 in Alkärrshallen. I hope it is okay to show the picture we took through the open doors:

Djurgårdslinjen old trams still to come back (in beginning of august) are:

http://www.sparvagssallskapet.se/vagnha ... .php?id=54

http://www.sparvagssallskapet.se/vagnha ... .php?id=66

http://www.sparvagssallskapet.se/vagnha ... php?id=100

http://www.sparvagssallskapet.se/vagnha ... .php?id=12

Three of these have been stored in temporary places (there are not enough spece in Malmköping). One of them (618) is in Gothenburg för bogie renovation.
Ju förr dess bättre.
